We didn’t start the fire… No seriously, we didn’t.

Monday, July 28th, 2008

I turned 24 today.

Your Response: Oh, wow. Well, happy birthday, Craig.

Thank You.

But that’s not why I told you. I was spending some time today reflecting on just exactly what is so great that I have done with my life (which I believe has become an unintentional, annual ritual), and I realized that other then giving my sixth grade presentation on Luxembourg in exactly 10 minutes (and I mean exactly, the stopwatch read 00:10:00:00), nothing, really.

Now, I believe that God has done some incredible things through me and in me, but any attempts of greatness on my own, have undoubtedly fallen short. And lately I have been relying on my own means to spark greatness. And it’s like trying to start a fire by rubbing two sticks together, but all I have is two strips of licorice. Can you imagine how frustrating that would be? Not to mention ridiculous.

BLANK: A Whiteboard Session

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Thanks to everyone that was there last night. I really appreciated all of your input. If you weren’t able to make it to the brainstorming session last night, feel free to send me your thoughts on the notes from last night (below).

Book Discussions
- you get others input

- off-site, in addition to Tuesdays
- have broader topics so that people not in on the book might still be able to participate
- cost?

Schedule
- we are flexible on the meeting schedule
- meet every other week, and the weeks in between would be more hang-out oriented.

Location/Venue
- the Barn
- dress it up
- possible awkwardness/distraction/limited, coming in late
- make it more informal/casual

- in homes
- regional groups
- more comfortable
- ownership
- easy access
- bible study
- Darcee has a house.

COLLEGE STUDENTS:

How to keep connected?

Thanks again to everyone that was there, and if you weren’t there I hope that these notes will be able to provide some insight to what went on, and I would love to hear your thoughts on 640, feel free to leave a comment, email me at craig.warner@fbcnp.org or hit me up on Facebook.

Next week, Frisbee and/or Kickball @ 7pm, FBC.
